Double header at EP for County

- SAM BYRNE

NEXT up for County comes an Edgeley Park double header as the visit of King’s Lynn on Tuesday evening as the Express went to print is set to be followed up by the visit of Maidenhead Utd on Saturday.

King’s Lynn are one of several sides in the National League with nothing to play for by way of league positioning following the removal of relegation from the fifth tier this season.

However, Rusk has warned his players not to take their feet off the pedal as County look to maintain an excellent run of form which has seen them go eight games unbeaten.

“They’ve got nothing to play for, but I’ve yet to see a professional step foot on the pitch and be desperate not to win the game,” said Rusk.

“Of course, they have that element of freedom, but again we’ll have to be at our best, these aren’t straight-forward fixtures, and we’ll be approaching it with the same mentality we did for a Wrexham away type of game.”
