Scott takes up pro role at Bramhall

- GOLF GEOFF GARNETT

BRAMHALL Golf Club’s new head professional Scott Parry is looking to bring plenty of experience and ambition to the club where he has was the assistant professional to Richard Green, who retired recently after 28 years in the role.

Scott has enjoyed a rather unusual pathway to his current position which began as a young golfer in Trearddur Bay in Anglesey playing at Holyhead Golf Club.

Scott said: “Neither of my parents played golf but our home was only 300 yards from the club and together with my brothers Matthew and Mark we joined the club – where I still play today as often as possible.

“I represented Anglesey and North Wales in every age group and played in the men’s team.

“I won four consecutive Anglesey County Championships as an amateur and then enjoyed doing a golf management course at Myerscough College and was the golf captain of the University of Central Lancashire team.

“I had great help and encouragement in joining the professional ranks from my brothers. Matthew is now Director of Instruction at the Jason Floyd Academy in Sotogrande and Mark, a former Welsh junior international, is an Elite Personal Trainer in Marbella.

“A lot of credit must go to these two for their help in my golf and career progression.

“I moved to Bramhall as assistant to Richard ten years ago and I owe him a massive thanks as I learned such a lot from him.

“Playing-wise at Bramhall my highlight is being part of the winning team in the MDGA Dunham Forest Trophy – although I did not play in the final!

“I have plenty of ambitions and plans for my new role at Bramhall and I intend to carry on the history of providing top class customer service and coaching for the members.

“I want to represent the club to the very best of my ability and I am extremely proud to have the role of head professional at what I consider to be one of the elite members clubs in Cheshire.

“In my professional team are Ellis Ostheimer, a former junior at Denton GC, who continues his role as assistant professional and he will be a fully qualified PGA professional later in the year and he will be stepping up his teaching and custom fitting skills.

“Completing the team will be Tim Rastall who brings a wealth of experience and a stellar playing career.”
