Get on course to help drive for vital funds

-

ST Ann’s Hospice has opened registration for its popular annual Golf Day which sees teams from across Greater Manchester gather together to raise money for local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

The Golf Day will be held at Cheadle Golf Club on Thursday, September 2, starting at 9am.

Tickets cost just £100 per one team of four golfers.

On the day, the hospice will host a raffle with luxury prizes, plus tea, coffee, and bacon sandwiches on arrival and a choice from the BBQ for lunch after teams have played.

Rachel McMillan, chief executive of St Ann’s, said: “The support we receive from local businesses is incredibly important to our sustainability.

“We’re incredibly lucky to have such a wide range of dedicated, supportive businesses that help the hospice in so many ways, and our annual Golf Day is always a popular way of doing so. Some people come along as a team building day out, whilst others bring clients with them, but however they get involved, we’re hugely grateful.”

George Hadden, who has taken part in the last two Golf Days organised by the hospice, said: “I lost my partner to cancer and she spent the last remaining days of her life at a hospice and the staff were so kind and helpful.

“Therefore, I decided to try and help raise money for the hospice. We thoroughly enjoyed previous golf days organised by St Ann’s and are really looking forward to putting a team forward again in September.”

For those local businesses who would like to be involved in other ways, sponsorship options are also available.
