Extra time for vaccine at two hubs

-

VACCINE offers have been extended in two Stockport hubs, to ensure as many residents as possible are protected from Covid.

Both the One Stockport Hub in Mersey Square, Stockport Town Centre, and Trinity Methodist Church, 351 Bramhall Lane, Bramhall, have extended their vaccination offer until Saturday, January 29.

Both sites continue to offer first, second or booster vaccinations to all those who are eligible and anyone aged 16+ who has had their second dose at least three months ago is now eligible for a booster.

The One Stockport Hub is open Tuesdays through to Saturdays from 10am until 3pm and Trinity is open seven days a week from 8am until 6pm.

Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “It is essential that everybody takes time to get vaccinated as it protects you from serious illness and makes you less likely to spread Covid, keeping your friends and family from getting seriously ill.

“The vaccination offer has been extended to make it possible for everyone who is eligible to get theirs. Two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination are not enough to protect against the Omicron variant and the booster dramatically improves this protection.”

It is also not too late for those who haven’t yet had a vaccination to get their first or second vaccinations.

This includes 16 and 17 year olds who are able to attend these clinics although 12 weeks must have passed since the first dose to get the second.

12 -15s who had their first vaccination three months ago should get their second dose and can get vaccinated at either the One Stockport Hub every Saturday in January or Trinity Methodist Church before or after school.
