BANFF Mountain Film Festival World Tour brought epic adventure to Stockport this week.

The Plaza in Stockport is hosting two exciting shows, one was on Friday and there will be one later in the year on 14 October.

This year’s shows will allow audiences to witness extreme expeditions from the planet’s wildest locations, whilst relaxing in a cinema seat.

Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour features two new collections of thrilling adventure films from the planet’s wildest locations.

Starring fearless characters and beautiful cinematography from the world’s best adventure film-makers, the tour is not one to miss.

Tour director, Nell Teasdale, said: “We are so excited to be sharing these awe-inspiring new films with audiences around the UK & Ireland – up on the big screen!

“Banff events are a celebration of the great outdoors with a vibrant atmosphere – and we guarantee audiences will leave inspired to have an adventure of their own too.”

Each event will also feature a free prize draw to give you the chance of winning prizes suited for people who love the outdoors.

Film highlights include ‘Exit The North Pole’, which showcases what has been called the boldest polar expedition of modern times – a 1,500km journey across the frozen Arctic Ocean, via the North Pole.

‘Dream Mountain’ follows the life of an elite climber who returns to mountain climbing after the birth of her son.

Whilst ‘West Highland Way’ sees former pro rider Rab Wardell cross the 95-mile West Highland Way on his mountain bike.

Throughout the spring and autumn of 2022, the UK and Ireland tour will visit over 50 locations.

Banff tour films are selected from hundreds of entries at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, which is held annually in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains.
