Dave relishing Reddish Vale’s rude health

- GOLF GEOFF GARNETT

DAVE Sanders is a true legend at Reddish Vale Golf Club for the work he has put in to various roles and other golfing organisations over the years.

He is enjoying his new role as President of Reddish Vale and proudly said: “The club is in the best financial position it has been in for many years and we are welcoming new members and visitors constantly.

“Just about all the greens equipment has been replaced in the last 18 months along with some extra machinery purchases that will improve the course even more.

“The final piece of the jigsaw is now in place with our new catering arrangements.”

Dave also has a second reason for personal golfing pride as his nephew Billy Sanders is the Junior Captain at Sale GC.

Dave believes that Billy could set a club, county and national record for being the tallest-ever junior Captain at his height of six feet seven and a half inches!

Dave commented: “I am only five feet nine inches and my dad was six feet two inches and his dad was even taller.

“I must take after my mother’s side of the family!”
