LAST week I made brief mention of the upcoming meeting between the Club Board and ourselves on 29 January – this week some more detail.
The object, for the Cooperative, is to give our members and the ordinary County supporter a chance to voice their opinion or seek information via a question relayed by us to the Club Board.
Our members get ‘first whack’ so to speak but only in the sense that we ensure that they receive the first information and invitation to submit a question prior to the meeting, and I can confirm all fully paid-up members received such last week.
But we have resisted the temptation to restrict the questioning to our membership, rather we have always opened this to the fan base generally.
Obviously by doing this we hope that at least some of those not currently in membership will join us, but that is not the sole or even the main motivation – we actually do care that matter of concern to ALL County fans are aired, where it matters- to the Club, and we think we regularly achieve this!
County supporters wishing to submit a question should send it b24 Januaryinfo@ countysupporters coop.co.uk before cut off on Wednesday 24 January- a full report from the meeting will be published widely soon thereafter.
Alongside this important work the new Supporters Cooperative board are resolved to seek a closer understanding of the concerns of County supporters and will shortly undertake an online ‘Consultation Exercise’ to get a greater appreciation of what the average Edgeley Park regular thinks on matters generally and the Cooperative in particular.
Meanwhile the Cooperatives views can readily be appraised via this weekly column, our considerable online output or face to face on match days on the Grassy Knoll.
