St Ann’s Hospice is one of the beneficiary partners, alongside Francis House Children’s Hospice, that is working with national charity JustHelping to organise Christmas tree collections in local areas.

The collections have been run by JustHelping and St Ann’s with the support of community volunteers, sponsors and donors for 10 years.

All postcode areas in Manchester, Stockport, Trafford and Salford are eligible to get their Christmas tree collected.

The Christmas trees will be collected by volunteers between Thursday,

January 11 and Sunday, January 14.

The collections are a great way to dispose of Christmas trees in a stress-free and sustainable way.

They protect the environment by having your tree recycled, with the chippings being used for pathways and flowerbeds in local parks.

JustHelping ran their most successful Christmas tree collection to date in

January 2023.

Through collecting and recycling 5,270 Christmas trees across Stockport, Trafford, Salford and Manchester, the Collection raised £63,07.99 for 15 local charities/voluntary groups in the area including over £57,000 for St Ann’s Hospice.

Lucy Leeming, Fundraising Manager of St Ann’s Hospice, says: “We are so excited for the tree collection this year, after the success of last year’s we can’t wait to see how this year’s compares.
