COUNTY SUPPORTERS COOPERATIVE BY IAN BROWN

-

THE Supporters’ Cooperative is engaging in a lively debate as to the future of our website- an essential arm of our outreach to County supporters be they members or not.

Basically, the debate surrounds whether to look out, maybe splash out on a new, all singing all dancing website or to look deeper into what we have and make that better.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, after 10 years in the Comms/ Media position I favour the latter course of action, being of the opinion that there is ample scope for improvement within the current site which is basically sound.

The debate continues.

But just this week my email in-tray pinged with the arrival of an enquiry via our website from two 40 year old ladies from Norway who were planning to attend County’s game against Harrogate Town on 3 February.

They were seeking information regarding which stand to sit in and where County fans went before the game.

Their timing was immaculate, and I was able to alert them to the fact that tickets were about to become available the next day – stressing to them the importance of acting quickly.

My advice on which stand to go for was ( in order of preference) 1. Cheadle End 2. Bergara Stand 3. Pop Side 4 Railway End

On County fans pre-match arrangements, I mentioned the pubs on nearby Castle Street confirming all to be welcoming but likely to be very crowded.

That left arguably the duo’s best bet namely the relatively new ‘County Courtyard’ that offers street food, cask ales, live music and a lively bustle of activity right next to the Cheadle Stand.

It was good that through our website we were able to help two new County supporters enjoy the EP experience, and pleasing to see its outreach is so encouragingly wide!
