Sarah is hoping to clean up on night of awards

A CLEANLINES­S monitoring officer who helps ensure hygiene standards are high at Stepping Hill Hospital has been shortliste­d for a national award.

Sarah Irvine has been shortliste­d in the ‘Auditor of The Year’ category in the annual MyCleaning Awards, which celebrate the best in healthcare cleaning standards across both the UK and Ireland.

Sarah’s role is to audit cleaning standards across the hospital site, ensuring ratings are carried out accurately in the busy 24-7 working environmen­t of the domestic team.

She has been praised for her positive, motivation­al style, helping to ensure both morale and cleaning standards remain high.

She is a visible an ever-present member of the domestic team in wards, treatment areas and offices across the site and helps to ensure all members of the team are working efficientl­y and effectivel­y.

The National MyCleaning Awards are run in associatio­n with NHS England and are open to healthcare teams across the UK and Ireland.

Sarah was up against over 300 applicants from across the country in her category, before her achievemen­t of reaching the shortlist of just three.

Jo Morris, facilities support services manager for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said “Sarah is a really wonderful, positive colleague who always manages to help keep the team motivated in a very busy environmen­t.

“She’s a vital part of keeping cleaning standards high here at Stepping Hill Hospital, and we’re all very happy she’s been shortliste­d for this award.”

The winners of the MyCleaning Awards will be announced at a ceremony at Salsa Temple, Victoria Embankment, London on the evening of February 20.
