COUNTY SUPPORTERS COOPERATIVE

- BY IAN BROWN

THE Supporters Cooperative were pleased to have the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Stockport County board some days ago and have meaningful discussions on a raft of issues highlighted by well over two dozen questions many of them raised by County supporters.

Perhaps the item that engaged our interest most was the Clubs clarification as to Development Plans, these remain largely dependent on which division County finish up in next season, but work looks likely to commence on the Railway End first with development of other stands following in due course.

In this respect the Club confirmed that a Public Consultation Process will be undertaken soon giving supporters, residents and groups ample opportunity to examine the plans and make their opinions known.

Asked on safe standing the Club indicated that they liked the idea in principle.

A feasibility study on the subject concentrating on the Cheadle End had been undertaken, but safe standing was unlikely to feature in the development plans.

On stadium catering the Club confirmed that a Pie Tracker was now in place to alert when stocks are running low.

Challenges in the length of time to cook the pies (25 mins) remain but sales are analysed regularly to assess future supply and the club are aware of the challenge for supporters and working to reduce this. In addition Pizza will be back in the Courtyard with a new (local) supplier.

After the meeting it was interesting and pleasing to note that within days of us asking if the Club would consider introducing a ‘number of games attended’ policy for the sale of away tickets to Season Ticket holders, that is precisely what the Club announced.

We hope that gives you a flavour of the Club plans- keep reading this column to stay informed.
