Online grocery prices were 1.2% cheaper in February compared with a year earlier, the first such fall since October 2021, figures show.

Pet products were 0.5% cheaper than a year ago, according to Adobe Analytics price tracking, based on online transactio­ns.

Online grocery prices were up 0.1% on January, although this compares to the 5.3% increase seen between January and February last year.

Across all categories, UK online retail prices were on average 8.2% lower in February 2024, compared with last February.

A collectabl­e 50p coin celebratin­g the diplodocus has been launched by the Royal Mint as part of its dinosaur range.

The coin has been inspired by the Natural History Museum’s diplodocus cast, affectiona­tely known as “Dippy”, which was gifted to the museum in 1905.

It is the third and final coin in the range, which also includes a tyrannosau­rus and stegosauru­s. The full collection of coins depicting each dinosaur is available to purchase from the Royal Mint’s website, with prices starting at £11.

HSBC UK has launched a new switching offer of up to £220, which involves taking out a current account as well as regularly putting money into savings.

Customers can receive £100 after opening their Advance or Premier Account and meeting the criteria, which includes opening an Online Bonus Saver account.

If customers continue to meet ongoing monthly criteria including making a monthly deposit of a minimum of £50 into their Online Bonus Saver they could receive up to a further £120 over 12 months as part of the offer, receiving up to £220 in total.
