Evening of laughs with comic Fred
Funnyman is guest of honour at charity bash
Perth- born funnyman Fred MacAulay is guest of honour at a black- tie dinner being organised by the Auchterarder and District Cancer Research UK fundraising group.
The event – which is being held at Stirling Court Hotel on Saturday, October 29, from 7pm – will include a champagne reception with canapes on arrival, followed by a five-course meal.
Live entertainment will then follow from the award- winning Fred.
The fundraising evening will also include a raffle and auction.
Master of Ceremonies will be Craig Miller of STV and Cancer Research UK’s cancer prevention champion Linda Bauld will give a presentation.
Ian Thomson, chair of the Auchterarder and District Group, said: “We are delighted to be organising this event to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and plan to raise as much as possible.
“We’d ask everyone to please secure their tickets as soon as possible and help make this a fabulous evening.”
Dorothy Rodger, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for Perthshire, added: “The black-tie dinner and evening with Fred MacAulay is an ambitious event for the Auchterarder and District Group and we can’t thank them enough for their commitment to helping Cancer Research UK beat cancer sooner. It’s going to be a fantastic evening.
“Cancer survival rates have doubled since the 1970s and Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress.
“However, we have only been able to achieve this thanks to the dedication and generosity of volunteers and supporters like the Auchterarder and District Fundraising Group without whom we would not be able to fund outstanding scientists, doctors and nurses.”
Cancer Research UK spends over £31million a year in Scotland on some of the UK’s leading scientific and clinical research.
