Donations sought to help refugees

They are part of a growing organisation throughout the UK, working to fundraise and collect vital donations from all over Scotland to transport to the refugee camps in Calais and throughout other crisis areas of Europe, including Chios.”
Re-Act has found that most of the young adults its volunteers meet in camps are small/medium in size and require footwear of EUR 36 - 43 in size.
While those the charity helps are in need, the donations of clothing and shoes they receive could be their last for some time so Re-Act tries to ensure that what refugees are given is going to sustain them. Therefore, the only other recommendation is that the items be in at least a fairly good condition.
Comrie Cares, which collected 100 black bags of warm winter clothing thanks to donations from Strath residents at a previous collection, is seeking clothing and shoes specifically for teenagers and young people in its latest appeal.
The White Church will be open this Sunday from 11am till 5pm to receive donations.
A spokesperson for Comrie Cares said: “Our target group will be teenagers and young people but we will happily accept everything that is offered because we can find a good use for it all.
