Kenny and Friends in town for music night
A Music Night with Kenny and Friends in aid of Parkinson’s UK takes place this Friday in the White Church from 7.30pm.
The unique evening will see classical, traditional and popular music performed by some of Scotland’s most up-and-coming talents.
Local musician Kenny Cormack told the Herald: “In July of last year I organised a charity concert to support my friend Marc’s fundraising for Parkinson’s UK.
“The result was a fantastic evening of music featuring a great variety of local musicians and friends I made during my time studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
“Together we successfully raised over £1000 – a figure that I hope to top with this upcoming concert. The evening will feature a diverse range of music from traditional folk tunes to Spanish guitar and even a little bit of opera.
“I enjoy putting on evenings like this where contrasting styles and disciplines can be brought together and enjoyed in a relaxed setting.
“There will be a bar available before the show and during the interval.
“This will be the last of Marc’s fundraising events and will be a celebration of him surpassing his initial target of £60,000. An incredible achievement!”
Tickets, costing £15 (under 12s £10), are available from Hansens Kitchen and www.eventbrite.co.uk and some may be available on the door on the night.
