races, with hus­band and wife team Neil and Beth Sc­holes lead­ing the way at the new year break.

In­di­vid­ual mem­bers are busy mak­ing plans, with am­bi­tious tar­gets rang­ing from the 40- mile Cly­de­stride ul­tra-marathon from Glas­gow to New La­nark, as­sorted half- marathons and marathons the length and breadth of Scot­land and fur­ther afield – in­clud­ing Lon­don and Stir­ling – nu­mer­ous hill races in­clud­ing the fa­mous Lairig Ghru race through the Cairn­gorms, and moun­tain marathons.

Wat­tie Mackay and Maddy Watson will be look­ing to de­fend their ti­tles as club cham­pi­ons, with the cham­pi­onship race se­ries kick­ing off at the Gart­morn 6 trail race in March.

The club wel­comes run­ners of all ages and abil­i­ties and there are runs on Mon­day and Fri­day morn­ings and a struc­tured ses­sion on Wed­nes­day evenings.

Men’s cap­tain Andy Aitken, with his new Level 2 coach­ing qual­i­fi­ca­tion, has de­vel­oped an ex­cit­ing and in­no­va­tive pro­gramme for the first quar­ter of the year, which will ben­e­fit ev­ery­one from begin­ners to ad­vanced rac­ers.

The Ju­niors sec­tion goes from strength to strength, with in­creas­ing num­bers turn­ing up for Tues­day and Thurs­day evening train­ing ses­sions and races.
