- JOHNATHON MENZIES

A Strath-based artist’s work is to go on display at a local gallery later this week.

An exhibition by Comrie resident Jonathan Sainsbury will be on show at the Shaky Village’s Goldfinch Gallery from February 8 until March 4.

Ahead of the opening at the Drummond Street premises, the Goldfinch Gallery’s Vicky Cottrell said:“The Goldfinch Gallery is delighted to display a number of Jonathan Sainsbury’s larger works in this exhibition.

“Jonathan and his family have lived in Comrie for over 20 years.

“He is a well-known and much loved member of our community here in Comrie.”

Jonathan is a former prize-winner at the Scottish Royal Academy and signature member of the Society of Animal Artists.

Explaining his inspiration, he said:“The human desire for knowledge can make us blind to treasure all around us.

“Rarely do we simply meditate on the beauty of the natural world into which we are born.

“I prod and probe and paint, hoping to reflect something of its complexity.”
