Glendevon bridge works are postponed

-

Repair works which were set to begin on a Perthshire bridge last week have been postponed until later in the year.

The proposed closure of the A823 at Glendevon for bridge maintenance was scheduled to start on January 17.

However Perth and Kinross Council has revealed that work on site has “unfortunately not progressed according to our contractor’s programme”due to an“unforeseen issue”regarding the condition of the existing structure, requiring a postponement of the road closure.

A PKC spokesperson added:“We are continuing to work with the contractor to establish dates when the road closure will occur and presently anticipate the earliest potential closure date would be mid-April.

“We will confirm the new arrangements as soon as we possibly can.

“We recognise that the temporary traffic lights and the future closure of the bridge impact on your day to day travels and your patience on the matter is appreciated.”
