Board’s AGMs held on Zoom

-

The first annual general meeting of Comrie Development Trust since 2018 took place via Zoom on Tuesday, January 11.

Interim chair Alan Moffat welcomed everyone to what he described as the“most unusual AGM”he has ever had to attend.

It was a double-header as the meeting saw the 2019 and 2020 AGMs held back-to-back, both having been cancelled due to the pandemic.

Almost 40 people attended, with 16 apologies received.

Alan Moffat was elected as chair.

Also on the board are Helen Buchan, Davie Robertson, Blair Urquhart, Bill Levac, Bill Thow, Chris Palmer, James Wood and newcomers Ruariadh Macintyre and Jeremy Spurway, with Jaimie Lang an associate member.

Bill Thow presented the treasurer’s report for the financial year’s ending March 31, 2019, and March 31, 2020, the full accounts of which are available on the CDT’s website.

A Special Resolution to adopt a new version of the Articles of Association was also passed, which will enable CDT to take potential advantage of changes in the Land Reform Act which have come into force since the creation of the trust.

As well as his chair’s reports, Mr Moffat went on to give a presentation on the strategic review, which has been undertaken for Cultybraggan Camp and the wider community, and the current actions being implemented as a result of the recommendations in the external consultants’ report.

And there was a plea for more women members to come on to the committee.

Mr Moffat told the Herald: “Our only lady board member, Helen Buchan, made an appeal to have a more diverse board, which makes sense.

“We would like to have more board members, but especially more women to create a more balanced board.

“If anyone is interested, they can get in touch . Likewise, if anyone wants to become a member of Comrie Development Trust, get in touch. We currently have around 600 members.”

Mr Moffat also praised the various volunteer groups within CDT.

He concluded by thanking everyone who attended the AGMs and said he hoped 2022 will be a much more progressive year for CDT.

The AGM for 2022 will take place on Tuesday, March 22.
