Plans for 80 new homes

- JOHNATHON MENZIES

Plans have been submitted which could see almost 80 new homes constructed in Crieff.

Campion Homes Limited is seeking permission from

Perth and Kinross Council for 78 houses on land east of 16 Hebridean Gardens.

The site was originally allocated for housing in the late 1990s as part of a larger allocation of properties at Kincardine Road.

Planning permission for up to 92 homes was secured for the same location in 2007 but was never fully implemented.

A spokesperson for Campion Homes Limited said its development would extend what was described as “a walkway/open space area adjacent to the Alligan Burn” north from Skye Crescent to link into the wider core path network at Kincardine Road.

The firm has also said it plans to create a play park as part of the project, something which was included when the planning permission for the larger number of homes was granted.

The spokesperson continued: “The proposals reflect the informed feedback received through the pre-application consultation exercises conducted over the second half of 2021 and that also includes helpful feedback and advice received from Perth and Kinross Council during that time.

“It is now proposed to develop the site at Hebridean Gardens for 78 family homes, ranging from two-bed ‘starter’ homes to larger five-bed homes.”

Campion Homes Limited has said, should they be approved, the new homes will be “energy efficient and will benefit from many quality design features that are in-built.”

The firm has said it is expected Perth and Kinross Council will determine the planning application by the end of May of this year.
