Vision charity moves

-

Support for people with sensory impairments – sight or sound – has moved into the heart of Perth city centre.

On Monday, Perth and Kinross’s only sensory impairment charity, VisionPK, moved to Perth High Street, where it will continue to offer its services to the area’s growing number of people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing.

The local charity, which has been in New Row since 2002, is looking forward to reaching many more people who may be struggling with their hearing or vision in their new, central location.

VisionPK has taken over the premises previously occupied by GAP at 174 High Street.

Gwenn McCreath, chief executive at VisionPK, said:“This is a positive step forward for the charity and we’re delighted to be able to bring our services and expertise to more people. We are also thrilled to be moving to the High Street – helping to revitalise the area with local services and resources.

“While our support team will still cover the whole of Perth and Kinross, undertaking home visits and hosting support groups, it’s great that we’ll have somewhere right in the centre of town where people can come and receive advice, information and support about their sensory impairment.”
