Longer opening for Crieff’s Tool Library

- MELANIE BONN

DIY tools, garden machinery and even sewing machines can be borrowed from an environmental hub in Crieff.

Remake in Muthill Road benefited from the generosity of shoppers giving through the Co-op Local Community Fund, which sees shoppers back local good causes by pledging a contribution from their in-store purchases.

The donation from the store will now enable Remake to open its public tool library for longer.

The new opening hours are: Thursday 10am-6pm, Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-4pm.

The Remake Tool Library is a free service available to the Strathearn and

Strathallan community and is one of only five of its kind in Scotland.

Just like a traditional library, people can borrow any item for a week and then return it for someone else to use, thus aiding sustainability.

Remake community co-ordinator, Fiona Airey, said:“Our tool library is bursting at the seams with a variety of tools and equipment that you may only need occasionally, such as marquees, DIY power tools, home decorating equipment, sewing machines and garden machinery.

“You can find our full inventory and loan items at crieffcommunitytoollibrary.myturn. com or pop down to Remake to find out more.”
