Crieff are edged out in thriller

Crieff and Strathearn RFC’s men’s first XV lost 53-35 in a high- scoring league tie away at Montrose/Arbroath on Saturday.

The Blue and Golds are due to be on their travels again this weekend when they play Dunfermlin­e 2nd XV on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

The Braidhaugh side currently sit second in Tennent ’ s Caledonia Midlands Region League Division 3 on 47 points after 14 games so far this season.

Table- toppers Dundee have amassed 55 points from the 11 games they have completed during the campaign so far.

Meanwhile, Crieff and Strathearn’s women’s section took part in their first outing of the year on Sunday during a Midlands developmen­t event hosted by Dundee.

A skills session was followed by games featuring some great tries, tackles and supporting play. The women’s section trains at Braidhaugh from 7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
