Groups join forces for big Jubilee party
On Sunday, February 6, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee – marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
To celebrate the unprecedented anniversary, events and initiatives will be taking place throughout the year, culminating in a four-day bank holiday weekend from June 2-5.
And community groups in Crieff have joined forces in the hope of ensure the milestone is marked in fine style.
Friends of MacRosty Park, Crieff and Strathearn Museum and Crieff Community Garden are teaming-up to host‘Street Party in the Park’on Sunday, June 5.
It will take place from noon until 4pm in the Strath capital’s flagship MacRosty Park.
The free event will include performances by Brass Central Strathearn, Comrie Pipe Band and Turleum Twirlstars, with KG Dance doing a taster session and Radio Earn also in attendance.
Refreshments will be available, but party-goers can bring a picnic should they wish.
