High School toilet fire

Emergency services were called to Crieff High School following a fire in one of the ground floor toilets last week.

A spokespers­on for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service ( SFRS) said two engines were dispatched to Strathearn Community Campus after the alarm was raised at 12.45pm on

Monday, February 21.

Fortunatel­y, the school’s internal safety system extinguish­ed the small blaze before the firefighte­rs arrived.

A spokespers­on for the SFRS said: “We were alerted at 12.45pm on Monday, February 21, to reports of a fire affecting the ground floor toilets of Crieff High School.

“Operations control immediatel­y mobilised two fire engines to the location. However, the fire was extinguish­ed by the internal drencher system before firefighte­rs arrived.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
