Group on lookout for new faces
Help Trust with its projects
Crieff Community Trust (CCT) is seeking new board members, nonexecutive experts and supporters.
The charitable organisation, established in 2013 to bring about improvements “in the physical, economic and social environment” of the town, is made up of volunteers working together to benefit the Strath capital.
It works in partnership with other community groups, local and national government and other organisations on a number of projects identified through consulting the community on a continual basis.
Current projects include the maintenance and development of Turretbank Wood and its path network, the ongoing regeneration of the former Drummond Arms Hotel and the development of Can Do Crieff – a co-working space in the town centre.
CCT is currently looking for motivated, committed individuals to volunteer to join its board of trustees.
Chair Ailsa Campbell said: “In particular, we are looking for people with experience in finance, fundraising, governance, marketing and strategic planning.
“Responsible for guiding the organisation’s strategy and development, you will be actively involved in ensuring the organisation is legally compliant and financially sustainable, as well as taking a hands-on role in running some projects if you choose.
“The role involves a commitment of around eight hours per month, which will include 10 formal meetings per year, our AGM, preparing for board meetings, ad-hoc meetings as required and membership of a working group.
“CCT is committed to having an inclusive and diverse board and welcomes applications from representatives of the whole community.”
Mrs Campbell said there is a lot to be gained by becoming a board member.
She continued: “The CCT board is a friendly group of Crieff people.
“You will gain valuable networks through connections with other trustees. You will develop your strategic thinking, business skills and financial understanding which are transferable to all future roles.
“Ongoing support and mentoring will be available and the chair of the board will work with the appointed trustee to conduct a training needs analysis at the outset of their tenure.
“Ultimately, as a trustee, you will be able to make a real difference to a vibrant organisation that aims to improve life in Crieff.”
Anyone interested in joining CCT as a board member or who can offer their services as a non-executive expert in a particular area can contact crieffcommunitytrust@gmail. com or apply using the ‘Join us’ form found at www.crieffcommunitytrust.org.
