Darts Super Series in Crieff

The fifth Perthshire Darts Association Super Series event is due to take place in the Royal British Legion Scotland clubrooms in Crieff on Saturday, March 19.

Registration at the Perth Road venue is from 1pm.

Scott Pirie won the latest Perthshire Super Series, held at The Gig in Blairgowrie on Saturday, February 26.

The event win, his second in a row as part of the new series, followed a 4-1 victory over Craig McFadden in the final.

Beaten semi-finalists were Bryan Hackney and Martin Burke.

Clare Cruickshanks won the women’s event, beating Sarah Christie 3-2 in a close final.

Carrie-Ann Northcott and Theresa Hill reached the competition’s semi-final stage.

Further action on the day saw Brian Welsh beat Andy Baillie 2-0 in the consolation competition final.

The pair got the better of Brian Needs and Ross Phillips, respectively, in order to do battle for the honours.
