Online consultation on proposed solar farm

-

An online consultation in relation to a potential new solar farm near Blackford is due to take place this evening.

The event is due to take place virtually from 7-8pm on Thursday, March 31.

Publicity material released locally ahead of the event states: “Blackford Farms Limited would like to share plans for a proposed solar farm development at land bounded by the A9 and Badrill Road, Blackford.

“The development will provide the Highland Spring Group site with electricity from renewable sources via a private wire connection while also providing community benefits.

“The solar farm will deliver significant long-term, permanent carbon reductions and support Scotland’s ambition to reach net zero greenhouse gases by 2045.

“The event will include a 30- minute presentation about the proposals, and an opportunity to ask questions.

“Blackford Farms Limited and Highland

Spring Group are committed to being good neighbours and look forward to sharing the plans in advance of submitting a formal planning application.”

Anyone wishing to attend is asked to email blackfordsolar@ highlandspringgroup.com in advance for the link to join in with the consultation.
