Change at top for region’s police

Po l i c e Scotland has appointed a new local area commander for the Perth and Kinross region.

The update was announced to Perth and Kinross Council’s housing and communities committee when it met virtually on Wednesday, March 23.

Tom Leonard has replaced p re v i o u s f i g u rehead Graham Binnie, who has been promoted to the rank of superintendent within Tayside’s senior command team in Dundee.

Chief Superintendent Phil Davison told the committee: “I’d like to both congratulate Graham on his recent promotion and also to thank him for his efforts in serving the communities of Perth and Kinross over the past few years.”

Ch Supt Davison described Chief Inspector Tom Leonard as a “vastly experienced officer” who is local to the region and has previously worked in communities within Perth and Kinross.
