- LYNN DUKE

Kids’ Week in Crieff (KWIC) organisers are looking forward to welcoming families back for an Easter event in MacRosty Park on Sunday this week.

The fundraiser will be a chance for the group to get back on track in the wake of the pandemic and put some money back in the coffers to help put on future events.

The highlight of the day will be the popular duck race at 3pm.

The pink ones – 20 ducks sponsored by businesses and families – will set off first before the main race, featuring 350 yellow ducks, bobs along the Turret Burn.

Ducks can be purchased by messaging the KWIC Facebook page and will also be on sale in the park from 11am.

There will be prizes for first, second and third in each race.

Ahead of the races, there will be an egg hunt and craft table for Easter Bonnet crafting, stalls outside the Pavilion Cafe and the pizza oven will be open for orders between noon and 2pm.

Judging of the Easter Bonnet competition takes place at 2pm.

KWIC chair Angela Baker said: “The event is supported by the Pavilion Cafe and Perth and Kinross Council’s Greenspace team.

“We all really looking forward to it. It will be a breath of fresh air to be able to all be in the park together.

“It’s been a long time. We haven’t really been able to do anything in the way of fundraising for the last two year’s so hopefully people will get behind us and buy ducks.”

Angela added: “We are planning a return to Kids’ Week in July and that will kick-off with gala day on Sunday, July 17, and we run through to the Friday.”
