Adventure park fun for charity

- ROBBIE CHALMERS

A charity open day at a Strathearn hotel’s adventure park will raise vital funds for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

Hosted on Wednesday, August 2, money from visitors attending Action Glen, located at Crieff Hydro Hotel, will go towards the lifeline rescue service.

A further five per cent of all takings from the hotel on the day will also be donated.

Action Glen offers an array of activities that will get the pulses racing for all ages, including a tree top adventure, zip lines, segways, quad bikes and alpaca trekking.

Stephen Leckie, chair and CEO of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: “We are proud to support Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance by donating every penny from ticket sales and refreshments from Action Glen to our fantastic charity partner.

“Their dedication to saving lives across Scotland is remarkable, and we urge guests, the local community and those from further afield to come along to Action Glen on August 2 for what promises to be an unforgettable day of fun and adventure, all in the name of a good cause.”

SCAA recently marked its 10th anniversary and has flown nearly half a million miles in that time, saving thousands of lives and impacting on thousands more – particularly in remote and rural areas.

David Craig, CEO of SCAA, said: “The day at Action Glen looks set to be a success, with lots of exhilarating fun for those attending as well as some welcome support for the charity.

“SCAA relies entirely on donations from organisations and individuals to sustain what has become a vital lifesaving service for everyone in Scotland, which is why we’re delighted with the ongoing support that the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels has shown us.

“We can’t thank Stephen and his entire staff enough for recognising the value of what we do.”
