Huawei unleashes an affordable electric toothbrush packing 36 cleaning modes and an app, for one of the most technologically advanced oral examinations ever

Tooth to power

Huawei is known for its phones, but the tech giant has a finger in a plethora of gadgety pies… which now includes this inexpensive system for removing bits of steak and kidney from your gnashers. The Lebooo Smart Sonic Toothbrush offers real-time visual cleaning tips and a staggering 36 cleaning modes to choose from. Not confident in your brushing technique? Fret not, because the accompanying app gives voice tips on brushing gestures, pressure and even the angle at which you hold the brush.

Leader of the plaque

The sonically oscillating head attached to the Lebooo features a metal-free design, so it’s able to pack more plaque-shattering ‘Pedex’ triangular bristles into a smaller area. The blue-tinged tips start to fade to white when it’s time to swap to a new head; but one thing that won’t fade is the 2500mah battery, which offers 90 days of blissful brushing when fully charged (which takes eight hours from flat).

Sometimes I get whitened

Connecting this clever cleaner to Huawei’s AI Life ecosystem of smart devices is as simple as adding the Bluetooth brush to an existing home screen. Then it’s possible to access the four main modes: Cleaning, Brightening And Whitening, Sensitive and Nursing. Calculating the full 36 cleaning options is a bit of a Countdown numbers round – the four modes get five options and four strength levels each – but if you come out of it with gnashers like Roberto Firmino, perhaps it’s worth it.

?? ?? The Lebooo brush is available in white or black… which is also true of some people’s teeth.
