BECAUSE I GOT HYDROGEN
In the worldwide push to achieve zero-emission aviation, the first commercial aircraft powered by a hydrogen fuel cell has been successfully flight-tested here in the UK. Zeroavia, a US/UK startup, flew an adapted six-seater above Cranfield Airport in Bedfordshire to 1000ft without using fossil fuels. Tests were so successful that the company has just netted $21.4m from a fund backed by Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and, bizarrely, Shell. The next stage of testing will aim to complete a 250-mile flight.
