1 Know your nose

Masks should always cover your nose and mouth and fit snugly, without leaving any gaps. Added fabric layers – and filter inserts especially – offer extra protection.

2 Filter your filters

Be careful when buying a mask with a valve, as cheaper models often only filter air coming in and not what you blow out – which goes against the whole not-spreading-bugs point.

3 Splat your flats

Think about what you’re going to use your UVC sanitizer on. They work best with flat surfaces like phones and kitchen worktops. Germs will continue to lurk anywhere that has crannies.

4 Love your gloves

If you’re thinking of buying disposal gloves but the Plantvibes don’t appeal, the best options are made from latex or rubber. They should be thick and stretchy so they won’t rip easily.
