You can’t really go wrong with a Pro-ject turntable, and picking pretty much anything from its range is a winner… but if you want to upgrade your deck without committing to separates, the Juke Box E offers the best of both worlds. Its MDF platter and base are much better at resisting vibrations than the plastic of cheaper turntables, but it still has all the electrical gubbins (namely a 25W amp and phono stage) built in, so you can just connect a pair of speakers and it’ll be ready to go. There’s also Bluetooth onboard, so you can stream Spotify from your phone through it.
