Adidas has responded to Nike’s carbon game-changers with this stripped-down racer, designed to deliver maximum energy return with high-response Lightstrike

Pro foam. The wishbone carbon plate sits between midsole and sockliner, and is tuned to get that all-important toe-off spring without loading stress onto the metatarsals.

Is it any good?

Despite being heavier than the Alphafly, the Adios Pro 2.0 runs lighter on the foot. It’s nimble, agile and punchy at pace. That forgiving higher drop offers some extra protection when your form gets ragged, or you simply want to run slower. And unlike some carbon shoes, it’s strong for training, not just racing.
