SOFTEN THE SCENE

A new trick on Sony’s high-end cameras is Background Defocus mode. It does what the name suggests – think Portrait mode on a smartphone. The main difference between the ZV-E10 and an iphone 12 is that Sony’s cam doesn’t use software to create fake bokeh but adjusts its shooting settings, dropping the aperture to keep subjects crisp while backgrounds go soft and dreamy.
