FOLD ME CLOSER, SHINY DANCER Oppo Find N

-

It’s now nearly three years since Samsung released its first folding phone, and it’s fair to say the world has changed since then. Admittedly that’s more down to a certain health issue than the impact of a phone that you can fold in half, but the Find N proves the concept is here to stay.

Oppo says it’s taken four years to develop the Snapdragon 888-powered Find N, which uses a ‘water-drop’ hinge to widen the angle of the fold when opened and reduce the crease in the 7.1in, 1792x1920 AMOLED display inside. Coloros has been taught some new multitasking skills to make the most of the extra space: you can swipe down with two fingers in the middle of the device to split the screen in half, or turn a full-screen window into a floating one by pinching it with four fingers. On the outside you get a 5.49in, 1972x988 screen, which means the Find N is actually about the same size as an iphone 13 Mini when folded up, albeit fatter. Let’s just hope it doesn’t take another four years for Oppo to launch it outside of China.
