When it comes to surround sound, as a general rule the more speakers you have the better. We don’t want to bamboozle you with technical jargon here, but it just makes things more surroundy – and with 17 neodymium drivers inside, Devialet’s Dione has more than most. They’re all packed into a unit that’s just 1.2m long, but it supports Dolby Atmos via two upward-firing ceiling channels, plus Airplay 2 and Spotify Connect as well as Bluetooth 5.0 and UPNP. It can upscale any audio to fit its 5.1.2 formation, while its Adaptive Volume Level tech adjusts things in real time so you can still hear dialogue clearly even when it’s all kicking off in the background.
