THE BEST IS LORGNETTE TO COME Nreal Air

-

If Google Glass had looked like a pair of Wayfarers rather than a rejected prop for a ’90s Star Trek movie, we might all be wandering around wearing AR glasses by now. Instead, Google’s ill-fated wearable ended up as the butt of a bunch of jokes and our faces remain unadorned with smart glasses – but maybe 2022 is the year that changes.

At least that’s what EE seems to think, because it’s bringing Nreal’s Air specs to the UK. The two 3840x1080 OLED displays inside will make it look like you have a massive 201in screen 6m in front of your eyes; it can be positioned in virtual space and combined with head-tracking for a full AR experience, while Air Casting mode mirrors your phone screen. Sound is tackled by two speakers built into the arms, plus there are dual mics so you can also use your specs to make calls (if you can put up with looking a bit crazy while doing so). Hook up a Bluetooth controller, fire up Google Stadia over 5G and your lunch breaks will disappear in a flash.
