Height stuff

Gently push back on the top half of the display and the whole screen pivots around a joint that runs along its middle. You’re limited to three positions: standard laptop, screen flipped 180°, or the display in front of the keyboard.

Bright stuff

The 3:2 touchscreen is very bright for an IPS LCD and colour depth is very good. But it can’t compete with the Macbook Pro’s display, which is more than twice as bright and covers the entire DCI-P3 colour standard.

Tight stuff

Covering the keyboard should put the screen into the optimum position to use the stylus, but it’s not actually that comfortable. We tried arranging it at a more desirable slope but it’s not totally stable at other angles.

Write stuff

The Surface Slim Pen 2 isn’t included, which may sting a bit. With 4096 pressure levels its haptic feedback does a good job of making the PC feel more realistic to use, plus it sticks to the keyboard surround magnetically.
