Bid farewell to lost luggage anxiety with Retreev’s smart tags

-

It’s a thought that crosses the mind of every traveller as they check in their suitcase, then watch it flop onto a conveyor belt and disappear into the bowels of the airport: what if I never see my bag again?

The short answer? If it’s lost on the way to your destination you’re about to have a ruined holiday, starting with a forced shopping trip to restock on socks, pants and shampoo – and that’s just the beginning. Long-term, you’re looking at replacing a sizeable proportion of your wardrobe, not to mention the suitcase itself.

And if it’s lost on the way home, you can say goodbye to all your holiday souvenirs along with the aforementioned clothes. Far from ideal. Thankfully, the Retreev smart tag makes the worst of this easily avoidable. Nothing less than the next evolution of the luggage tag, it’s there to ensure that, should the unthinkable happen and your bags go walkabout, you’ll get them back as swiftly and securely as possible.

Code runner

Here’s how it works. Each Retreev tag carries your unique user ID, accessible to anybody who finds it via NFC or QR code. All the finder needs to do is tap or scan the tag using their smartphone; they’ll then be taken to the Retreev website and asked to fill in a simple return form. Then you, the owner, will receive a text and email notifying you that your lost luggage is lost no more. It’s a beautiful thing.

Trace for the prize

Retreev tags work with the Worldtracer baggage-tracking system used by all Iata-affiliated airlines and 3000 airports, so wherever your luggage ends up you’ve got a great chance of being reunited with it. You can also use your unique Retreev tag ID when reporting any missing bags to your airline, allowing for an extra level of bag-matching so you know you’ll get the right gear sent to you.
