My home A three-bedroom 1930s semi-detached in Wednesbury, West Midlands, which we bought in 2010.

When I bought It Apart from the bathroom, the house needed a lot of work. There was no flooring in the hall, no plaster on any of the walls and the kitchen was very old and half of it had been ripped out.

And now It’s light with a pastel palette. As well as a new kitchen, we have an open-plan living room/dining area that’s great for entertaining.

Style tip Try not to mix too many looks, otherwise it can appear messy.
