Takes 30mins skill level
Proppmatt chopping board, £2.75, Ikea Pyrography tool with stand, £28.99, Hobbycraft Pencil & rubber
Give the surface of the chopping board a rub down with a dry cloth to remove any dirt. Select your chosen nib and attach it to the end of the pyrography tool before plugging it in and leaving to heat up. Be sure not to touch it while it’s plugged in. Lightly mark your chosen design onto the surface of the chopping board using a pencil if needed and then use the heated tool to burn on the design. Rub out any remaining pencil marks, if visible. We found that using the tool to dent dots or make short lines was a simple technique to get you started. Later, as you build up your confidence, you may want to try out some more ambitious designs.
