Stack two crates on their sides, one on top of the other so all the edges meet neatly. Drill pilot holes in each corner and screw through, so the crates are attached. Repeat with the second pair of crates. Turn the crate stacks upside down so the screw heads are hidden on the inside of the lower crate. Lay the board on top and centre using a tape measure. Drill holes up through the top of the crate on either side and screw through to secure the board.
