Keep kids entertained in the holidays by getting creative with these easy, fun-filled projects that you can enjoy together
Pineapple Piñata
You will need PVA glue Large bowl Newspaper Balloon Small bowl String White paint Paintbrush Scissors Yellow tissue paper Glue Green crepe paper Skewer
1 In the large bowl, mix two parts glue with one part water. Tear the newspaper into 2.5cm-wide strips. Blow up and knot the balloon. 2 Sit the balloon on the small bowl. Dip the strips in the paste, removing excess, and stick to the balloon, leaving a hole where it’s tied. Hang to dry, using the string. 3 Add two layers of strips, letting each dry. Pop the balloon and carefully remove it. Paint papier-mâché white. 4 Cut tissue paper into 6cm-wide strips. Make 4cm-long cuts on one edge. Starting at the base, glue fringing around the shape. 5 Cut and glue on crepe paper leaves. Fill piñata with sweets, stick crepe paper over base. Make two holes in the top with a skewer, thread with string and hang.
