It’s been an amazing, blazing summer, hasn’t it? But now I’m good and ready to make the transition into winter mode! It’s time to get your winter clothes, boots and bedding out of storage and give the house what Ma Richmond calls a ‘top-to-toe purge’. Sounds painful, but it’s actually kinda cathartic and sets you up for the crazy-busy months between now and (whisper it!) Christmas. So, this issue walks the line between all that forward thinking – decluttering and reorganising ready for the new school term, getting the sitting room in good shape for box-set season – while keeping one foot firmly in summer (time outdoors, time-off-work redecorating projects, sales bargains in the shops…).
