HOTEL CHIC

Want a boutique hotel-inspired bedroom scheme? Revamp the wall behind the bed with a bold feature wallpaper. Update your old bed with a new statement headboard, then dress the bed with crisp linens, layered throws and pillows and cushions arranged in stacks.

SHELF STORY

Create a shelf arrangement using narrow picture ledges. Prints, pictures and ornaments can be propped on the ledges (without being fixed on the wall) allowing you to swap things around when you fancy a change or add in newer pieces from time to time.

BOX CLEVER

Simple roller blinds and Venetians are an unfussy option for windows, but for a decorative touch, box pelmets are a great way to frame the window (as Aileen has done). Use lightweight foam core board to make a long box shape the width of your window (and the depth of your choice), and cover with fabric fixed in place with fabric glue. Attach to the wall using L-brackets.
