STYLE SECRETS

Take your lead from Jenny’s colourful look

-

WOW With bold PATTERNS

If you’ve fallen for a statement wallpaper but are afraid to commit, compromise by limiting pattern to just a single feature wall with adjacent walls in a toning shade to co-ordinate. Large-scale patterns can also work well in small spaces such as an en suite or cloakroom – be brave and embrace the look with pattern running wall to wall.

Go dark With paintwork

Painting walls a deep, moody hue will add a feeling of luxury and warmth in a sitting room. Instead of keeping with regular white-painted woodwork and trims, which can be too much of a sharp contrast, try painting shelves, bookcases and skirtings in the same dark shade so the walls and woodwork blend into one for a seamless look.

Mix and MATCH TILES

Create a patchwork-style kitchen splashback with a mix of tiles in geo and floral patterns. Keep to one colour, go mono for an understated look, or for a more rustic mix, try coloured tiles from a co-ordinating collection. For a bohemian vibe, mix it up with a random assortment of tiles in different shapes, sizes and colours – cut costs by looking out for discounted end-of-line tiles.
