FIT Your OWN FIRE
Elgin & Hall has launched a range of electric fireplaces suitable for DIY installation – all you need is a flat wall with a socket nearby. The fireplaces arrive in either one or two pieces (where the fire and surround are separate) and the first step is to measure to decide the best position. Use a drill and wall plugs to secure the fireplace to the wall, fit the surround, then plug it in. If your plug is a distance from the surround, choose a timber surround to make it easy to cut a notch for the cable.
